Grades 6 & 7 -- Amazing Grace & Heeding the Call

Amazing Grace is designed to help youth develop their UU identity, strengthen their moral compass, and deepen their spiritual journey through faithful action. Lessons from Heeding the Call encourage youth to work to counteract the marginalization of others and encourage them to see that we are all called to love justice through words and actions.

Grades 8 & 9 -- Coming of Age

Coming of Age is an extensive Unitarian Universalist program to honor a young person's passage into greater maturity, responsibility, and spiritual commitment. The program culminates in a worship service led by youth, who share their affirmations of belief, and a trip to Boston to explore our UU heritage. Fall registration is required; please contact DRE Colleen Vahey, re@ccuu.org.
Sr. High Youth Group

Each Sunday, youth meet for centering, sharing joys & concerns, and participating in discussion and activities based on selected topics. Youth also engage in a variety of environmental and social justice activities throughout the year.

In addition to the Senior High Youth Group, which meets at 10:45 am, we have two additional opportunities for participation by youth:

Senior High Youth Covenant Group

Looking for a fun, safe space to talk about things that matter with other supportive youth? Youth Covenant Group is the place to be! The group will begin in September 2011 and will meet one weeknight/month. Specific dates & times yet to be determined. If interested, please contact our religious educator, re@ccuu.org or 847-359-8440 x4.

Youth-Adult Council

Youth are invited to serve on the Youth-Adult Council (YAC) to help plan activities and are encouraged to participate in worship, ministry teams, and other programs at church. Youth may also participate in a number of regional UU youth conferences that include worship, workshops, and opportunities to form new friendships with other UU youth!
