St. Hubert Job and Networking Ministry is pleased to bring you Steven Rosenblum who will help us to better organize and effectively use the tools and essentials of a job search.  9/24/09 Journey Inward Group: 7 pm in Atherton Hall

Join us for guest speaker, Joe Pellettiere, who will share insights from the Ageless Wisdom teachings and what they reveal about modern events. He shows the signs of Masters' approach and explains their promise that if we choose it, we may enter a true "enlightened age" of peace, prosperity, and spiritual rebirth. Discover a profound message of hope, encouragement, and new direction for mankind.

 9/27/09 Meet the Minister: Once/month, visitors and new folks with questions about Countryside Church and Unitarian Universalism are invited to meet with Rev. Hilary after the worship service.  9/28/09 Last Monday's Book Discussion: at 7 pm in the Stokes Room, we will discuss The History of Love by Nicole Krauss.
 10/3/09 Parents of Young Children Playdate and Potluck: 10:30am-12:30 pm, Plum Grove Reservoir Picnic Shelter, 1100 W. Algonquin Rd (inside Harper College Campus). Rain location: CCUU Atherton Hall. Bring a dish or beverage to share. RSVP to Christina Caglar or the church office (ccuu@ccuu.org). In the event of inclement weather, Christina will email on Friday everyone who has RSVPd to let them know the final location.
 10/9/09 Movies with Meaning: The Miraculous World of the Very Small will be shown at 7 pm in Atherton Hall. Fungi, bacteria, and tiny engines inside every cell of our bodies. What can we learn from them? Can they help us live together and care for the planet we share? 3 medium-length features, interspersed with lighter short segments.
10/31/09 Spend Halloween at Countryside! We'll have fun for all ages - featured events are likely to include Boo Bingo, Trick or Treating, Costume Contest, Haunted House and more! Book Circle: 6:30 pm in room 6. We will discuss Speaking of Faith: Why Religion Matters and How to Talk About It by Krista Tippett (of NPR). 
11/7/09 Gong Meditation: 3-5 pm in Atherton Hall. Immerse yourself in sound with the healing vibrations of the gong. This will both calm and inspire your spirit. THe vibrations can help balance and cleanse the energy in your body. The sound and vibration works at a cellular level and can help with stress, fatigue, depression, anger, and blocked energy. This is an experience you will never forget. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Bring a yoga mat, blanket or pillow and water and be prepared for a journey of a lifetime. Honoring Our American Heroes 10:30 a.m. worship service - Symbolic and nostalgic music and commentary will help us celebrate Memorial Day 2009.  
05/29/09 Worklife & Career Support Group - 10 a.m. In these trying times, many people have already been laid off, downsized, or are in danger of losing their jobs.  Some of you are in jobs that do not fit your skills, values, interests.  Future meetings will be held at a time and place to be determined by the group.
06/01/09 Last Monday's Book Discussion:  7:00 pm The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Shaffer & Barrows.  Because the last Monday in May is Memorial Day, the meeting was changed to the first Monday in June.  Public invited (free).
6/05/09 Song Circle:  7:00 p.m. - Informal gathering of singers and musician - bring an instrument (if you play one), your voice, lyrics and music if you want others to play and sing with you.  Bring your own beverages and snacks.  Public invited (free).
06/07/09 Out of the Closets, Into the Streets, Down the Aisle - Rev. Hilary Krevchenia - 10:30 a.m. worship service - A rainbow story and a proud legacy.  Come celebrate.  And stay for the Picnic following the service!  Flower Communion: Please bring a flower or a few flowers from home to share.  A Unitarian tradition, the Flower Communion elebrates the beauty of our diversity and our hope for continued blossoming as a community of spirit.
06/14/09  The Heart of Congregation - 10:30 a.m. worship service - Rev. Hilary Krevchenia - Our final "regular" service before summer services begin.  Volunteer Appreciation can be a marvelous thing -- or it can set people's teeth on edge!  It's not a time to make people feel bad about how much they don't do, but about celebrating all the things - both large and small - that go into making our congregational community.  This has been a remarkable year for Countryside -- and there have been so many things that have made this place positively lively and creative.  Come celebrate this as a small element of our larger service.  The musical offerings will be rich and new and marvelous elements are planned.
